Sunshine Support Welcomes Two New Advocates to Strengthen SEND Parent Support in England, Wales & Beyond
The team here at Sunshine Support, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are pleased to announce the expansion of our fantastic Advocate team with the addition of two highly anticipated new members. Kerri Pearce, an experienced solicitor and SEND Legal Adviser, and Emily Fairbrother, a well-respected former Assistant SENDCO, will bring their extensive expertise to further enhance the support available to families across England and Wales.
Kerri Pearce: A Seasoned Legal Advocate for SEND Rights
Kerri Pearce joins Sunshine Support with a wealth of experience in SEND law. Having worked extensively as a solicitor (currently non-practicing), Kerri has a profound understanding of the legal landscape surrounding SEND provisions in education. Her expertise includes advising on Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), navigating appeals, and representing families in tribunal hearings. Kerri is passionate about ensuring that every child with SEND has access to the education and support they deserve.
“Kerri’s dedication to upholding the rights of children with SEND is truly inspiring,” said Chrissa Wadlow, Founder of Sunshine Support. “Her legal expertise will be invaluable to our team as we continue to empower parents and carers to advocate for their children’s needs.”
Emily Fairbrother: Bridging the Gap Between Education and Advocacy
Emily Fairbrother, a former Assistant Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), brings a unique perspective to the Sunshine Support team. With a background in education and hands-on experience working with children with SEND, Emily has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by both educators and families. Her role as an Assistant SENDCO involved coordinating support for students with diverse needs, liaising with teachers, and developing strategies to ensure inclusive education.
“Emily’s experience in schools and her empathetic approach to working with families will be a great asset to our team,” said Chrissa. “She understands the complexities of the education system from the inside out, and she’s committed to making a difference for children with SEND.”
Boosting Support for Families Across England and Wales
The addition of Kerri Pearce and Emily Fairbrother to the Sunshine Support team comes at a crucial time when many families are navigating an increasingly complex SEND landscape. Their combined expertise will significantly enhance our capacity to provide comprehensive, informed, and compassionate support to parents and carers.
“We’re thrilled to have Kerri and Emily on board,” added Chrissa. “Their passion, experience, and dedication to the SEND community align perfectly with our mission to provide top quality support services for families in need. With their help, we’re better equipped than ever to ensure that every child with SEND receives the support they need to thrive.”
Sunshine Support remains committed to empowering parents and carers through expert advocacy, training, and resources, ensuring that every child with SEND can access the education and care they deserve.
